Sacrament of Confession

I feel called to serve our community who think they are Lost Sheep who have strayed and cannot see the Shepherd anymore. I have been in this place many times and found the Sacrament of Confession so powerful and immediate - I want to offer it to people and make it less scary.

The first question that needs to be answered is whether holy sacraments like confession and absolution can be accomplished virtually.

And the second question would be, "What is weighing heavy on your heart, my friend?"

I am an ordained minister. Therefore, I can serve this sacrament and feel urged, especially during these turbulent times to step out and offer this Holy work. I believe in finding and using new approaches to deliver these sacraments. For years, I have been delving into the Mysteries of the Christian faith and bringing them to our community, free of dogma and religious doctrine.

The important thing is that we receive forgiveness, and how we deliver our confession is a means to this end. Let us focus on the hope and healing that confession can bring.

There are a lot of popular (mis)conceptions that surround the sacrament of confession. For too many people, the image of confession can evoke feelings of discomfort or hesitation.

Christ does not await us in confession with a response of shame or disgust. Christ awaits us with the same love and compassion he details in the parable of the Prodigal Son and Daughter. The prodigal son/daughter plans to approach his/her father, ashamed, and state that (s)he is no longer worthy of being called his son/daughter. Yet before (s)he can do this, "the father caught sight of them, and was filled with compassion. He ran to his son/daughter, embraced and kissed them".

You can choose to confess with video or audio. This is a confidential process. Your privacy is of utmost importance, and I am committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your confession. I feel called to serve the possibility of you feeling cleansed and reunited with God. I will be listening only, providing a non-judgmental ear and guidance where needed. While praying silently, I will be there to support you through this process, while being open to offer offer self-enquiry exercises, and prayers which we can go over together. It costs nothing and comes without penance.

The rest is in the hands of the Holy Spirit, who will guide us and provide the necessary grace and strength.
