There are moments in a life when the path no longer asks you to ascend.

It asks you to descend.

Not into darkness,

Into the place where knowledge is no longer gathered,
but remembered…
and lived.

This is an invitation into such a descent.

A personal initiation held in the living landscape of the French Pyrenees—
where the memory of Mary Magdalene, the Cathars, and older currents of wisdom
still move quietly through forest, valley, and living water.

The Nature of This Work

This is not a retreat in the usual sense.

It is not information, nor spiritual tourism.

It is an initiatory field.

A space in which you are accompanied into:

deeper layers of your own being, through ancient practices of refinement, somatic discernment, and clear introspection
direct encounter with sacred sites
and a body of teachings drawn from ancient streams, spoken into a language that can be lived now

These streams include:

the Egyptian understanding of Ma’at as truth, balance, and right relationship
the temple consciousness of Isis as devotion, desire, embodied presence, and rites that bring the body and spirit into union
early Christian mystical practice as the indwelling Christ, embodied presence, and fidelity through uncorrupted transmission 
Valentinian insight as the return to wholeness through the reunion of what has been divided

These are not presented as historical reconstruction.

They are offered as living transmissions, received, refined, and shared in a way that can be embodied and lived.

The Land as Initiatory Ground

Les Contes is not a backdrop.

It is part of the work.

The land holds:

springs and living waters
animal life and the continuity of care
the echo of Cathar presence in the surrounding mountains
proximity to sites associated with the Magdalene tradition
rich and royal enchanted forests

You will walk, sit, and remain in these places.

Not to observe them.

But to enter into relationship with them.

The Descent

Initiation, in its oldest sense, is not elevation.

It is a movement downward:

into the body
into the heart
into truth that cannot be bypassed

At times this may feel:

clarifying
softening
confronting
deeply still

Nothing is forced.

But nothing essential is avoided.

What You Will Be Held In

This is a private container.

Your time will include:

one-to-one guidance and presence with Aletheia
visits to sacred sites held in a contemplative, initiatory way
simple but precise practices rooted in body, land, and awareness
space for silence, integration, and direct experience
a rhythm of life that restores contact with what is real

There will also be moments of scribing and direct engagement with sacred texts and rites, including:

the Gospel of Mary Magdalene
the Rite of the Five Seals
the Weighing of the Heart

These are not approached as study, but as living encounters.

Life in the Temple

Throughout your time here, daily life itself becomes part of the initiation.

You will be gently received into a rhythm of temple living:

a quiet reverence in how the day begins and ends
presence in simple acts such as preparing food, tending space, walking the land
a shared atmosphere of attentiveness, care, and inner orientation

Nothing is imposed.

Yet something is held.

A way of living in which:

what you do
how you move
how you meet life

becomes part of the work.

This is not separate from the teachings.

It is how they begin to take root.

There are no performances here.

No roles to play.

Only a steady accompaniment into what is already moving within you.

The Thread of the Magdalene

In this region, the Magdalene is not approached as doctrine.

She is encountered as a field of recognition:

embodied devotion
inner knowing
the capacity to remain through loss, change, and transformation

Her presence is not taught.

It is met.

The Question at the Heart

All true mystery traditions hold a question.

Not one that can be answered quickly, but one that reshapes a life.

Here, that question may begin to sound like:

What am I here to bring through at this time?

What have I promised
to my soul,
to those I walk with,
and to God?
