Set in the Pyrenees Mountains, this Writers Retreat begins on the fall of a fearsome group of legendary warriors—the Knights Templar. What 'on Earth" could happen when a writer, scribe, prophet, speaker or utterer of Sacred Wisdom takes a week to profoundly practice their innate gifts for the sake of spiritual discovery and growth?

I believe in Prophecy, and the French Pyrenees is home to many. The gift of Prophecy is a miraculous act of intelligible communication, rooted in spontaneous, divine revelation and empowered by the Holy Spirit, which results in words that can be attributed to any and all Persons of the Godhead and which, therefore, must be received by those who hear or read them as absolutely binding and true.  This week is an encouragement to 'speak, write, sound and utter' that which we know we carry and have carried for a very long time...

Some say the gift of Prophecy has been done away with; however, I say no, the gift will continue functioning until the second coming of Christ as the very vehicle summoning its return.

This week-long retreat explores the challenges common to spiritual memoir writing and opportunities for deepening spiritual practice. We'll look at scene creation as an opportunity for attentive listening, reflective writing as a form of contemplation, character formation as an opportunity to withhold judgment, and thematic development as a way to participate in meaning-making.

A writing community will support writers, receive guidance from an experienced instructor, an opportunity for a one-on-one conversation, and have abundant creative solitude. Each day will include three hours of instruction, discussion, and writing exercises focused on the day's topic. Participants will hone their writing skills and widen the contemplative dimensions of their writing practice.

To support this process, there will be morning embodiment practices, a simple vegetarian diet, fresh mountain air, and walks along many paths. Please come with a writing intention, an idea for a project, or a work-in-progress.
